The youth ministry staff coordinates Wednesday fellowship and special events for middle school youth. Our goal for middle school youth is to share with them a faith that is lived out in our community and in the world and to connect them in the life of the congregation.
Youth fellowship meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM. To support the needs of busy schedules, child friendly food is offered in Ingram Hall at 5:30 PM for $2.00. Each Wednesday focuses on one of four faith practices: hospitality, faith development, mission/service and generosity. Practicing our faith helps youth connect the stories of their childhood into the life they live as young adults using scripture, mission, current events and service experiences.
Our programs invite middle school youth to participate in the leadership of their program. We listen carefully to what is meaningful in the life of youth and shape their activities to respond. Youth want to be and can be powerful and effective in the world; we provide meaningful opportunities for that to happen in their congregation. Families remain in touch with activities and events through the calendar and a weekly parent email giving highlights for the coming week.
High School Fellowship
The youth ministry staff coordinates events for high school youth. Our goal for high school youth is to walk with them as faithful adults and to build their faith practices to support their busy lives.
Our high school program is youth led. Youth members and their friends periodically brainstorm activities and topics that are meaningful to them. We listen carefully and support their program decisions with resources and fundraising. Youth want to be and can be powerful and effective in the world; we create the congregational environment for that to happen. Families remain in touch with activities and events through the calendar and a weekly parent email giving highlights for the coming week.
