Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir at First Congregational United Church of Christ is an active committee of adult learners in service to Christ. The ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings and participates in the Sunday morning worship service. In addition, the choir performs at many special services throughout the year as the demands of the liturgical calendar dictate. The Chancel Choir presents a major choral work with chamber orchestra during Advent and in April each year. Annually, the Chancel Choir collaborates with a brass ensemble on all major festival Sundays.
For 2012-2013, the choir will present:
Magnificat – Franz Schubert – December 16, 2012
Requiem – John Rutter – April 28, 2013
The Chancel Choir has actively pursued commissioned works with many of the leading choral composers in the United States. Commissioned composers have included Eric Barnum, David Cherwein, Dale Grotenhuis, John Ferguson, James Fritschel, Kenneth Jennings and Lloyd Larson. In 2012, the choir commissioned Dan Forrest in a setting of God of Grace and Glory.
Dr. Gary R. Schwartzhoff, Director of Choral Activities at UW-Eau Claire is serving as Director of Music and Judy Lies is the organist.

Youth Choir
A place where children grow in faith and musicianship through God’s gift of music!
The First Congregational UCC Youth Choir is a place where children can experience and explore God's word though music. The Youth Choir practices on Sunday mornings from 11:15 until noon in the Gathering Space. Children in choir will grow in their knowledge of music as well as in their faith through discussions and a variety of learning activities.
Youth Choir is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The Youth Choir participates in a Christmas Pageant in December and a Spring Musical. Students in high school will be offered special music opportunities throughout the year as well.
